I have checked the calendar but the map link doesn't work, so where are the meeting points for the TT's and how long before your start time do you need to get there and sign in?
Thanks

Holmwood course:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?ie=UTF ... 18353&z=12
Meet/park Inholms lane off Spook Hill.

Bletchingly:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?ie=UTF ... 13647&z=16
Congregate in waterhouse lane.

Just need to get your number pinned on and get to the start line with a minute (or two) to spare.

Jon normally emails you a startsheet with the info on it and posts up the start list in the racing section.

Marcus

You must give yourself a bit of time to warm up and that doesn't mean sitting in the car with the heater on! Get there in good time.

Marcus, and any other newcomers, I tend to get there 45mins or so before I'm due off. This allows plenty of time to put your bike together, dressing up session, and a warm up. If you get yourself and your bike together and then ride down to the start at the end of Spook Hill Joyce will be there with the numbers so you can sign in and get your number pinned on before starting your warm up. You won't have any last minute worries then.

It is probably worth attaching an LED to the back of your bike for tomorrow just to be extra visable.

Well, thanks to Joyce/Job/Roy/Al for organising/timing/marshalling and Andrew & others for advice. I'll probably do it again, but I don't like the look of the Bletchingly course. I'd recommend it to anyone - or at least the feeling you get when you stop.

I suppose next time I'll have to try and do it faster.

Yes thanks to the helpers on a chilly evening

And a 21"43: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/9100977

Thanks to all for organising etc. It was superb to see a nice big group and lots of newcomers to TTing having a go, hope you enjoyed it. That course as you now know has a few drags on it and you get to know where they are and how to ride them most effectively with the more you do so that last drag won't be such a surprise next time  .

A bit chilly but calm as a calm thing :D . Nice to see and have a little chat with John the old 'un's son (sorry can't remember your name) supporting his mate...who really gave it everything.

Just like to add a BIG thanks to Jon, Joyce, Tim, Al and Roy who made it all happen.

Really great to see so many first timers out there- with 24 riders an excellent turn out on a cold grey May evening. Hope you've recovered from your 110% effort, Martin. Now you know what it's like next time you do it you'll all knock a couple of minutes off your time - guaranteed. For some of you your handicap will be a lot higher, more room for improvement and more chance of a medal !!!!

Don't be put off by Bletchingley, Phil - it's tough but a much pleasanter ride in quiet county lanes than the major dual carriage way. Go for it! :D

Roy, Joyce, Tim, Al and everyone else who helped to put this on a very big THANKS.

My first TT..... what a baptism.......I did as George recommended and went off like a bat out of hell, which is not the only comparison I have with meatloaf (he's a little bit smaller than me). After 2/12 miles I thought mmm, this might not be such a good idea. I settled down and it wasn't long before Jon passed me at the 1st roundabout and Sam on the 2nd. The rest of the field went by everyone offering encouragement.....a push would have been better appreciated though next time lads  .

I got cramp 1 1/2 miles from the finnish at which point Andrew went past once again encouraging me on. At this point i kicked for home, it did help that it was down hill.

I had wanted to crack 30 minutes and although I didn't I cannot wait for the next one. The high I felt at the end was (not that I have ever inhaled you know) better than any illegal or prescribed drug. :D :D :D :D :D For all those who have yet to do a TT ever WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?????? See you at the next one :D :) :D :)

Marcus: maybe listen to Andrew, not George.

I set my Garmin to show average speed and current HR. I think showing the average means you don't worry so much when it drops on the uphills. But that could be nonsense. Also, although I could see my minute-woman most of the way around, I resisted the temptation to chase or even watch the distance and didn't overtake her until just before the last roundabout.

When I saw the HR, I was thinking that there was no way I could sustain it for the whole thing. As it happened, I could and ended up with an average HR of 172. Which is what I'd normally see when I'm trying for a PB up Box Hill, not sustained for nearly half an hour. I was able to sprint a bit at the end so maybe there is a bit more left.
