ECCA 25 06/06/10

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

George and I were discussing this a couple of Fridays ago with a thought to doing it again. Last year was a pretty horrible day but it is a fast course. It requires starting at silly o'clock to get there eg I was cycling to George's at 2.30am  but I am sure it would be worth it on a good day.

Wondering if anbody else is interested. Jon did it last year aswell. Might be able to share transport if there is enough interest.

I have just got it done this week. Used a Planet X clamp in the end. Only been out for very brief ride so far but I am very pleased with it. Especially the saddle position. It now feels like I will be able to sit on the saddle properly due to the steep angle rather than perching on end.

I am racing on it on Sunday. Really looking forward to it. 8)

I've entered both the 10 on Saturday afternoon and the 25 on Sunday Morning. I've booked in to a basic but very cheap B&B for Saturday night (same one I used for 12hr). B&B plus an evening meal in a pub will cost less than, or similar to, the petrol I'd have otherwise used, and I'll only be half an hour from Sunday's HQ so won't need a ridiculous alarm call.

Let me know if you want the details and I'll pm them.

A word of warning - you can't go southbound through Blackwall tunnel (no relation to Paul) this weekend, so take that into account when coming back.
