The weekend is shaping up. The wife is taking the kids away from Friday so that'll be curry and Buffy DVDs. Saturday to recover with a little light gardening and stocking up on fig rolls. Got the Pearson's ride on Sunday so will be swinging through Brighton but wont be stopping to check out the Baywatch-esque physiques on display. Shame about Monday.

Phil, are you riding to Brighton on the club run? I've the king of the hills on Sunday and wasn't sure if riding to Brighton would be too much the day before. Doing the club run the day before the May flyer didn't do my legs any good for the Club TT.

I'm not riding on Saturday at all. Well, maybe a short, gentle ride to check everything with the bike/rider is working. I'm still getting back issues (got physio and bikefit booked now) so don't want to risk overdoing it.

Also riding the same route to Brighton and back two days in a row sounds a bit dull.

I was tempted Amy, but that on Saturday and the Pearson 150K on Sunday might be a bit much. Also my bike is actually at Pearsons for a service/wheel fixing (not sure Aksiums are the right wheel for someone of my size) and I wont be able to pick it up until Saturday (long story about doctors and snare drums omitted).

The tart is very nice. Juicy yet firm....
Isn't that right Jon ?

I am partial to the odd tart myself, although over the long term they can be bad for theblood pressure :D

I'm am planning an alternatives style route, 95% on the lanes. 9:15 to leave by 9:30, Steady 18's. We will stick together as a group no one left behing.

It is longer than the BHF route and a bit hiller, but very peaceful and scenic.

Food stops on the way down at Felbridge and Wivelsfield. On the way back at Handcross and Rusper/Charlwood. (Box hill option on the way home) though I will probably do some style of reverse club run. Round trip distance from Croydon is about 115miles. Bring supplies, sun cream, some tools, and money.

Route detail below. Any takers?

I hope you all pack plenty of sunscreen and have a great time. Wish I was even 1/4 ways fit enough....

Enjoy yourselves

Blimey Hal, that's a lot of food stops. Have you got a tapeworm? :?
