Sunday 30th May ride

Postby Andrew G » Sat May 22, 2010 5:44 pm

On Sunday 30th May I'll be doing a ride should anyone wish to join me.

Pace / effort: Decent, not suitable for those below 19s CR.
Meeting Place: Lloyd Park car park on Coombe Road.
Meeting Time: 9am, prompt departure.
Route: Pretty tough (not a lot of flat road) with a fair bit of climbing including Kidds Hill and Toys Hill as the hard ones.
Distance: about 70 miles + possibly a bit more.
Cafe stop: Possibly but not until near the end (Westerham) if there is one. if the weather is good then I may do a stop and then add a bit extra on to take it up to nearer the 90 mile mark.

My usual Sunday rules - no waiting except regroup at the top of tough hills, know how to get home if you get dropped, make sure you have spares, food, drink etc.

Ta,

Andrew.

Sounds like a good warm up for the dragon Ride the following week. I will try to join this ride Andrew and will confirm closer to the date.

Fingers crossed the weather doesn't look too bad for tomorrow.

I'll wait at Lloyd Park until about 9.05 before leaving.

I won't be there then. Have a great ride and hope the weather is kind to you unlike today.

Just Jon at Lloyd Park so only two of us, although we passed Keith going the other way on our way to Dormansland :D .

Tough terrain and a good pace made for a good training ride. Kidds didn't seem so bad today but Groombridge seemed a bit longer than normal. Jon had to get back so we skipped the diversion to Toys but still had the tough climb passed Chartwell and up the steep bit of Hosey Common Rd.

Weather was reasonable but a bit cloudy, shame there wasn't as much blue up in the sky as there is now, and it was a bit blowy but that just adds to the fun  .
