Three riders up the road including one to watch. James Stuart (NP) make his move. Ever one to follow a fast wheel, I go with him. James is "on standby" with his wife imminently due. Hence he has his phone in his back pocket. Half way between the bunch and the 3 man break, I'm tucked up in the slipstream and I start to hear a ringing. I'm thinking, $hit, his wife might have gone into labour. As I go round I say "I hate to say this, but I think your phone's ringing". James just grins and points out it's his heart rate monitor alarm. He's way over his limit.
Not much to report on my race, coming in outside of the points. Two riders slipped off the front, and managed to stay away despite the bunch chasing pretty much everything down. Mark Edwards (Thames Velo) and a Corley rider. Chapeau.
