Club 10, 8 June 2010

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Thank you Phi, Tim, Joyce, Marcus and Al + friend. My first outing on this course and again found it quite tough (especially after the Dragon ride on Sunday). I'm learning fast about this TT stuff and I'm sure in time my times will improve.

Edit: Thanks to Roy Green for support :D

[quote="Tim Coales"]My thanks: to Jon Hemming & Jon Camden for organising, to Marcus (pusher), to Phil Nash (start timekeeper), Joyce (collected numbers and money), Al and friend for marshalling the turn (again), and Alan Malarkey (number spotted which made my timekeeping, oh so much easier) and of course to all who rode. The more riders, the more worthwhile the time & effort, so keep it up!

BTW, tonight was the first time in my 6 years of timekeeping, that the entire field broke evens.

Fantastic!!!!

Excuse my ignorance here :D but does this mean everyone came in under 30 Minutes??

2nd TT for me and first on the flatter Holmwood course - only had one objective and that was to come in under 30 minutes which I did...

...just about :o

Thanks to all for the excellent organisation - look forward to future TTs

I don't know either but I assume you're right Andy. Was Jon even there last night I never saw him?

Last night the wind was blowing strongly from the South which made pacing hard compared to my previous times on this course when it was the opposite, much warmer though. I was feeling much better than for the first evening 10. But my HR was still 10bpm higher than my PB last year in Sept, that can't be a good thing. The average speed went down to just about 40km/h at the roundabout but started creeping up on the way back. The hills felt a little easier (just) with the wind in your back. Anyway like always, I hated every minute of it! In the end my time was exactly what I predicted it was going to be! Someone was obviously also trying very hard as they were sick during their ride  .

Thanks as always to all the helpers

I think the order of top 5 was
George
Sylvain
Paul
Mike TSN
Dominic
Andrew

"Evens" is tester-speak for 20mph average speed.

Just want to add my thanks to everyone for making this possible - a great atmosphere and a great bit of competitive racng. Everyone, as Tim says, coming in at under 30 minutes despite quite a headwind on the way out. Another excellent turn out - 20 Agreeables and three or four guests - our best yet this season.

Well done George for winning the scratch - 2nd Sylvain, 3rd Paul H, 4th Dominic and 5th was Andrew Green out of the Agreeables

Well done to Kate Hewett as she picks up a GOLD medal for 1st place in the handicap, SILVER Darren Peachey and BRONZE Ed Thruston.

I'm waiting on a couple of missing bits of data before I can publish any league tables except the scratch which i've already done.

see you all (I hope!!) at the two up in a couple of week's time. :D :D

PS Great push off, Marcus!! :D :D

Thanks to all for making my first ever bike event go so smoothly. Apologies for not signing on in advance but wasn't aware of the event until the day, and wasn't registered on the forum at the time. I didn't have a handicap as it was my first time, though I would have guessed at around 29 minutes beforehand. I think I can go faster now with the wind in the opposite direction and a slightly better idea of what I am doing.
