Richmond TT 13/6

Postby Ivor » Sun Jun 13, 2010 9:31 pm

Back to Richmond park this morning for another go at the 10.4 mile TT.
Decided to have another road bike "old skool" ride - planning on returning for the next Richmond TT this year on the TT bike to compare the difference (it'd better be quicker).

Met up with Carl just afterwards whilst I was trying to track down the top I'd left at the start that someone had taken to keep safe... sounded like he'd had a good ride.

Felt quicker than last year (wasn't), although I was on aerobars last year. Not sure I got the pacing right on the rolling lumps around Richmond though, and annoyingly didn't really feel on top form until the 8th mile. Checking heart rate and speed at home seems to show just that, guess I need to warm up better.

anyway at the end of the day:

15 Carl Ferri Addiscombe 00:25:39 TT
43 Ivor Hewitt Addiscombe 00:28:48 Road

Won by Jerone Walters of Sigma Sport.... 22:57!

Re 'old skool', I spoke to Ian Cammish last week who said he did around 22-30 for a 10 'old skool' then immediately jumped on to his latest Planet X Exocet and did 20-08.

The Silver Fox is a bit special.

I'd forgotten about the Park TTs, well done guys and a pretty handy time there Carl looking at the rest of the results.

Thanks Andrew
These RP TT's are great fun. £10 fee includes a recovery drink and tea/coffee after the race-bargain!
My ride was over by 6.45 ish so i had time to top up the milage and do another 4 laps and still get home for 10.am....
I was a minute faster than last August which i was pleased about considering lack of racing/training since mid May. Going to enter the one in August to try and get sub 25 :D
