Well what a scortcher this afternoon down in Andover. I was the only ACC entrant for this one, had never ridden this course as a 25 on on the rapid 10 course, which we rode twice plus along to the next junction and back which added precisely 5 miles to top it up to a 25er.
The wind was blowing a bit but on the way to Andover for the first time didn't really notice it, as I started I saw a rider on their second lap ahead so I notched it up a little to catch him, he was pretty hard to ride up to from a distance I could see a 9 on his back then a little closer I noticed it was no.10 Aran Stanton a top local tester so thats why it was so hard to catch him up.
Round the turn the wind wasn't helping much, well it was helping in cooling me I suppose as I was really feeling the heat in my skinsuit. Past the 10 finish and into unknown territory, well tghe road just went right up over a big hill I'm tellin ya this one was bigger than Tolgate and steeper too!
Round the turn and it was a stinker of a climb up over the hill once more, even harder from this side I was really sweating like a dog now for sure.
Past the start and just the 10 miles left to push on to the finish, I felt faster on this stretch now than before, well I suppose at least ist was fairly flat now to the finish.
55.50
Gave it a good go today and was fairly happy with my time, I imagined this course to be much quicker than Horsham but is probably about the same I think.
This is probably gonna be the last event on the P613 as they are starting to build some traffic lights now at the turn
