Herts Wheelers 10, 26/06/10

Saturday night fever on the F20/10 course; event started at 6.30, I wasn't off until 8.02.
This is one of the two courses on which I've gone under 21 minutes, so I had my fingers crossed for a good time.

As I was warming up I thought the wind direction would mean a headwind on the way out and a tailwind back.
So, I was quite happy with 23mph up the first drag then 29/30mph for big chunks of the way out. After the turn I realised my meteorology was on a par with Michael Fish's hurricane forecasting, and there was a headwind all the way back. As the speed started dropping my mind wandered off the job in hand and onto saving my legs for the 100 the next day. I think I eased off a bit, and crossed the line in 23 minutes dead. Not quite what I was aiming for, but my second fastest 10 this season.

2006 on that course, and 2007 on the V718.

On a float day, are you fit enough to do it again?

If it's good conditions, a short 21 for you, long 21 for Andrew, short 22 for me.

No pressure then  . Nice ride Jon for a 23 while saving your legs for a 100! You must have hated that alarm clock come Sunday morning.

It was OK, I was staying 10 minutes from the HQ.
Unlike PVT who got up at 2am (now that's marital dedication from Mrs T).
