With Hutch and Dowsett down to ride this race there were a few spectators on the course for a change. Perhaps to see Steve D and myself struggle round the Bentley bypass.

Now Bentley is a funny place with no wind to speak off in Sutton. but a nagging head wind to greet us.

My legs felt like lead and I just couldn`t get going.

1-5-58 for me and a dns for Steve as he felt unwell.

Dowsett had no trouble with the wind with a 47something. Awesome.

Shame about the legs Terry but a pretty decent time considering you never felt got going. It's odd when they don't want to work properly and you can't always work out why.

Not just Steve you scared off I gather Hutch was a DNS too. I saw Dowsett's time, not bad eh, took about a minute off the course record I gather.

Awesome ride by the young Alex. Hutch had work commitments apparently. Hmm

It was actually a DNF for me as I managed to struggle round the first 10 miles. Having felt queasy with a dodgy head through the morning a DNS was on the cards but as I felt better as time went on (with the help of some aspirin) I decided to start. Once out on the course, however, I felt completely drained and decided it wasn't worth continuing past the 10 mile point. I'm hoping I don't get a repeat performance next weekend as I'm riding the fast South Wales course again.
