Tour de France: Stage 8 "spoiler"

An absolutely epic stage, fantastic entertainment!..It's game over for Armstrong (11mins down on front group); it doesn't look great for Brad Wiggins. Chapeau to Andy Shleck - great win. :D Evans in Yellow. Best ride of the day Navaro - Astana rider pulling for Contador

Shleck was looking super strong. Contador didn't seem to be able to stay with him. Cuddles faded a bit and the end having never moved more than 10 feet from Bertie all day (or so it seems). Shame about Wiggins. He really did blow there. But he had very little support in that group for much of the time.

Somehow, I can't see Lance fetching bidons for Leipheimer.

Of course he is. Always had been. If he'd doped, he would've been good enough to win some other races.

Go Lance!
11 minutes isn't so bad, and there's ages to go yet.
Another good write up today by Nicholas Roche in the Irish Independent:

Wiggins had nobody on the last climb as his team did all the work on the penultimate climb. Looked to me that they did this to drop Armstrong knowing he did a lot of work to get back on after a crash so perhaps they got what they deserved.

Perhaps they should have protected Thomas on Saturday to try and get him in yellow for a day rather than go for unrealistic GC positions.
