Club 10, 20 July

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Always difficult to tell completely due to the differences in weather conditions etc . Don't post your results on the TTF or they'll start asking for the comparitive yaw angles  .

Festival RC have a 10 on the Holmwood course on 18th September (2pm) where they have a road bike category (no tri-bars, discs, pointy hats). I did it a couple of years ago starting 3rd on the road bike and then having half an hour before going off last (late 60s number) with the pointy kit. It didn't give a true reflection as I went too slow to the turn on the road bike thinking about the following ride and saving energy for it.

Still quite good "fun" doing two 10s on the Holmwood course with only half an hour between :D and gives you a nice back-to-back test. There was a minute and a half difference in my times but a minute would have been a fairer reflection as I really dawdled to the turn in my first ride.

I might do it again this year (25 on Bentley course pencilled in at the moment but may save petrol and time and go to Holmwood), I just made sure that when I sent my entry forms in I dropped a covering note to say one was for the road bike category and requesting one as an early and the other as a late start. The organiser's happy to oblige, I was the only one who rode both categories that year so got a mention in the result sheet but no prizes on offer for it  . NP had a few (including Marcus from memory) do it on road bikes and scooped the team prize with three road bike rides.

My first 10 on this course was done on my road bike (when I first joined the club). Still went faster than I have the last two times

Couldn't you have made it just a bit later, now I'm going to be caught by the not-so-silent assassin on his road bike

I think you'd be where you are based on your pb or your times/position in the club 10s anyway Sylv. You need to get slower and finish lower down the order if you don't want George chasing you  .

Based on PB, Sylv would have been between Paul & Mark, but he asked for a late start so he's only got himself to blame for being chased by George.
