Over the Hill Gang mid week rides

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Good and sunny ride today. Steady pace and about 25 went to 4 elms. Earl and myself returned via Toys and Botley hills. More of you should have thrown sickies.

Desperately wanted to make it, glorious day for cycling and glad Earl made it at last before he is forced to get a job.

Seven of us including Robyn from ACC had a lumpy but steady ride to Westerham. Got home with 88 kms completed. Very hot day, even I tanned :D

Marcus was out again today, plus Robbie and Earl. Robbie's spoke broke on his expensive new wheels so he took a slow ride back from Barn's Green. Otherwise good sunny and steady ride of about 75 miles.

7 of us in the B group set out to Wiston near Washington for a 16/17 average ride. Beans on toast at Wiston wasn't probably such a good idea now as I try not to go near any naked flames.

Just under 130km covered door to door of rolling roads with no climbs as such, just lovely British countryside and summer weather. Rock on :D :D

Robyn and myslef from the Acc regulars, unfortunately no Alan M whom I was told had an off at a race on Sunday and chiped a colar bone.

Get well soon Alan :)

Thanks Marcus,

I am OK but have difficulty walking at the moment. Going back to casualty tomorrow am to check out cracked collar bone and change dressings. I took a hard hit when someone veered from the side and in front of me taking my front wheel away. I guess they may have reacted to something else, anyway, no chance to take avoiding action and when the group got up I was the last man not standing. I wisely insisted on an ambulance and luckily we crashed outside the hospital, 1 minute's drive!

Cannot make today's ride, sat on the sofa on Sunday and put my back out. Very painful and sore. I am now walking like a 90 year old.
I suppose I am now qualified to ride with the over the hill gang but unfortunately can't. :(

Anybody help, does Thursday's ride set off from the same place i.e Betchworth.

Just i remember a few years ago, meeting up at Effingham junction instead of Betchworth

That's right Ben; 10am from Betchworth next to the garden centre.

Westerham on Thursday so a lumpy ride.
