I did the induction yesterday followed by novice training. A good workout allround.
I would recommend it to everyone who wants to improve strength and sprinting.

If you intend to attend get there for the 11.30 briefing then it is on track for midday (or thereabouts) before being joined by other novices at 13.45 to 14.00.

The sessions are mostly spent going around in a mass group of riders. Between two to six riders are sent off each in the group taking half lap on the front each.

Not as easy riding close together when someone out front slows and you've got no brakes to slow yourself. A few sqeaky bum moments.

Marcus: I found that at Calshot. It feels wrong to be close on someone's wheel with no brakes. However, they haven't got brakes either - and you can control your speed quite well so it should be OK. The only thing at Calshot is the feeling that if you try to slow down on the steep bit you will slip down and die.

Quite tempted give HH a go (no idea when I'll find the time). Looks a bit more relaxed.

Shame more peeps don't get behind this, I went along last year just as a spectator and enjoyed myself, just needed a few more people taking part. I'll try go again and offer my support this year as long as its dry.

Yep, hauling a 48 x 18 up the Palace. But might also do the morning session if weather is great.
