There's still plenty of time to hit that second Peak or even get fit again after injury/lay off (Common Alan!) You've even got enough time to take summer holiday and get yourself in shape for the number 1 ACC club event of the year. It will take place at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit this year on Saturday October 23rd If you haven't been to Hillingdon before its in West London less than a mile away from Southall. Hillingdon has good parking facilities, a bar, showers, toilets etc The race will follow the format of previous years with a seperate A and B race. Both races start at 1.30pm. The B Race will be 35 mins + 5 laps: A race will be 50 mins + 5 laps

The B Race is for clubriders and inexperienced/novice/4th cat racers

The A Race is for experienced racers: 3rds and 2nds
There will be lots of prizes available
Positions 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from both races will recieve prizes
The most aggressive rider
The blingiest rider

Well done Toks for getting this up and running...bit late in the season so fingers crossed there will be lots of tired legs giving me some hope of not picking up the wooden spoon... :D

Hopefully will make it but it clashes with my kid brothers 40th and if I don't go to his b'day bash he'll bash me

Yeah very hard to find a slot in September because of the number of BCF races. It would be good if you could make it :D

That's spot on - only this afternoon I was thinking of trying to salvage a pretty dismal racing season for my part - injury or illness leading to lack of motivation etc - looking at races in September and October (anyone up for the 4-up TT btw?) to start training now. So I should be peaking for late October this year, perfect

Nice one Toks once again for getting it rolling

The Clubs Road Race committee apologise profusely and want to assure you that a crisp £5 note has finally been placed in a brown envelope. We've pulled out all the stops and our financial department have given the decision the green light - delivery time three months

I'll give it a try, but have never done bunch racing so may Cavendish the whole bunch.

O/T but has anyone thought of bunch race coaching for people who might like to try it but are nervous?

Just do a one day race licence Phil and give it a go.

Now i've got my Paris trip out of the way i'm going to do some races at Hillingdon, starting at the end of August. I drive so can always give you a lift.

You'll be with your club mates Phil so that will take most of the stress away. Also you'll get the chance to do some practice laps in the bunch before the race.

The mantra "don't do anything to anyone you wouldn't want done to yourself" sums things up nicely. Essentially pay attention, and as long as it keeps you in a good position stick to the wheel in front like glue. It's a bit like club run riding but you have to cope with changes in pace due to different folks attacking. The only thing that really threw me when I started was having to follow 'the racing line' on sharp curves or bends. In short, you'll be fine. Additionally, coach Williams and a whole host of experienced racers will be on stand by if you need more tips

Hi Toks

Definitely up for this.

Is there an age limit? Can Sam ride (he's 16)?
