Anerley 50 8/8

Bad day for me as I felt a bit off at the start and never got going in any sort of rhythm.

A bit dissappointed with my time of 2.06.59 as today was my last chance to meet my season's 50 target. Never mind I've still reduced my pb this season and the rest of it has gone well so far.

Paul H was the only other ACC to meet the timekeeper and did an absolutely superb ride, saying his first 25 was the fastest he's ever done and finishing with a blinding 1.55.46

Well done Paul, an excellent ride and Friday obviously did you good.

I left early so don't know who won but expect it was Steve Dennis as he was going like a superbike.

Marco, even if I'd been nearer my pb, 3 minutes faster, and George had been the 3rd man I can't have seen us troubling the Bec for the team prize.

I gather Keith Coffey did a 1.52 for 3rd place and Shaun Kennedy and James Hughes were also down to ride and did sub 1.55s in the SCCU 50 the other week. Weather wasn't as good yesterday but they have some team to beat these days. Even with a problem (puncture etc) they have Mark Newton and Keith Butler to step in and they're none to shabby.

Steve Dennis did win with 1.43.45 a mere 8 minutes ahead of Lee Turner in second.

Holy cow, that man is absolutely flying this year, he has been breaking East Grinstead club records this year as well, proves you can get better with age I suppose.

Cheers

He is indeed Marek. He was going very well last year and has moved up another level this year, he was 4th in the National 50.

Just had the results sheet which confirms...

Steve Dennis won in a new course record of 1.43.45

The most remarkable performance even managing to top Steve was...

Germain Burton finishing in 5th place in his first ever 50 mile TT with an incredible time of 1.53.11 and he doesn't even turn 16 until January!!!
I was leaving as Germain was riding back to the HQ and he still looked fresh as a daisy.

Paul's great ride got him 9th place, well done that man.
