Not at all. The difference between a good bike with a good spec but no "name" is a world apart from a sh1t bike with a sh1t spec and a frame and components that last 5 minutes.

Re Evans they have their warehouse sale (big tent in a field) at Crawley around this time of year. If it's not been and gone have a look for a date. You'd need to get there on the first day as all the decent bikes will go quick as stuff is quite heavily discouted and bike-wise it's just slightly damaged (scratched frames) or odd sizes that get left after that.
