Tour ride - Logistics

Postby Phil H » Mon Sep 13, 2010 9:54 am

Me + spouse + small boy are booked in to do the Tour Ride on Saturday - a couple of laps around the finishing circuit of the ToB. Not having had to do this before, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to get a small boy and bicycles to Docklands on a Saturday morning.

The TFL website claims it's impossible, the DLR doesn't take non-folding bikes. I am assuming that we can take bikes on mainline rail at the weekend, but don't really fancy tackling much London traffic with a 10 year old (short stretches would be OK, but I'm not sure how much my nerves would stand).

Any ideas anyone? Is there a Thames Path that maybe could be taken from London Bridge or something North of the river? Driving is a possibility but a last resort.

Cheers marco. That looks workable - and simple. Almost too simple.

I was going to point out the London Bridge to Greenwich was technically straddling but I reckon hardly anyone would know what I was on about.
