Cheers Toks, it was nice way to round off the road season for me and makes up for crashing at Dunsfold on those road at the beginning of the the year (thanks Mr Dynamo!).

I've now just got try to lose some weight before the Catford and the Bec - well it's too late to find some more power :)

Well done to Keith - has that kept your 2nd cat for you OK now?

Nope, my shocking inability to get results  , plus a rather disrupted season means that I'm still a little way off.....

Don't worry about it Keith, come back next year as a 3rd cat and win a race  Only did around 12 races this year myself but as usual I'm determined not to move back up to 2nd without a win :D

Aim low and achieve?

2nd or 3rd Cat licence, I'd probably choose to enter mainly the 2nd Cat races.

Well done Marcus. Consistent good performances throughout the year Keith from what I've seen in the results, write ups and other's comments.

What's more fun and what do you enjoy racing in more, 3rds only races or 2/3 races? If it's 2/3 races then the number on your licence doesn't matter, you're still riding the same race.

Keith you're easily strong enough to stick with 2/3 races I would only urge you to do some cat 3s if you want to attack early and test your breakaway skills. I certainly wouldn't suggest you stick it out in them until the bunch sprint as so many of them seemed to get messy this year!

You've looked pretty strong most of the time this year so you'll get the results sure enough. Three things to remember:
- Going fast and winning racess is largely in the head - RRs are rarely won by the strongest rider.
- Don't worry about category licences - it's just a number.
- Push yourself to the limit whenever you race, cos Pain is temporary, Glory lasts forever! (OK I got that from Assos!)

See you on the hill Andy. And Toks, get your skinny fast ass out on the race circuit - we miss you, if only for your reports ;-)

Andy - no Brighton Mitres for me this year as I want to save my legs for the Cat / Bec. I'm also battling to get rid of a sore throat now so am doubly glad that I''m not doing 4 hill climbs in one weekend.

Yes Sylv - it does seem to have come round very quickly this year. Believe it or not it was specifically your comments about your climbing weight for the 2009 Bec plus your performance in the Ras de Cymru which prompted me to lose almost a stone last Autumn. Shame that was after the Bec!!

I'll try to smile for the camera but that's not my normal hill "attack pose" which isn't pretty!

Cheers Marcus

And in turn I had been inspired by Wiggins' appearance at the Tour - let's hope we don't have a bit of a shocker season like him
