Alternative Ride Saturday 16th

Postby Snoop Doug » Wed Oct 13, 2010 8:28 pm

Hi folks

I fancy looping out to Box Hill via Little Switzerland this weekend. Modest pace (I'm on mtb with skinnies) with a brief stop to catch breath (and have a pee if you must  ) at the top of Box Hill then a café stop at Walton on the way back.

This ride is ideal for people with a bit less time on their hands as it is about 28 miles (I think) from CSS out and back. I'm not a big fan of hanging about in the increasingly cold mornings so I will get to CSS for 9 for a 9.15 departure. If you fancy joining me for a sociable pootle that would be lovely and if you don't that's fine too.

Cheers - Snoop

What time do you think you'll get to Boxhill Snoop? I'm running at Banstead Woods, but might ride out to join you after.

Lucy I'm not sure. I'm guessing we might get there for around 10.45 (90 mins from CSS??) but I honestly don't know. PM me yr mobile number and I can text you when we get near if you like?

Marco - be great to see you if you make it that's cool no worries if not.

Oh, and I will have mtb tyres on I can't be arsed to change them for skinnies

And if folk are interested, I have had a request for a possible pub stop. We'll see.

Cheers - Snoop

I would like to come out for a gentle ride this weekend, but I tweeked a muscle in my back last Sunday, and am not yet sure how I'll feel tomorrow and want to be able to let you know if I'm on my way or not.

Cheers,

This is my plan:
Run at Banstead Woods then cycle straight to top of Boxhill. I should be there before you guys, so I'll ride down the zig zags and up the Little Switzerland Headley Road. I assume you'll be coming down Tumber Street?? I'll a bit unsure from there, so if I've not meet you by then will hang about there.
Unless anyone can think of a better place for me to tag on??
Snoop, I'll pm you my number 8)

Snoop: What's your sort of speed and distance? I was wondering if the boy could handle it. Admittedly his group riding skills need work but I'd obviously tag along to look after.

Phil - we took it real easy today. I have no ideas about speed etc .as I didn't have any gizmos but we go at the pace of the slowest and the total distance I think someone said was a few miles north of 20...ish.

Next one for me is a ride out to support/cheer at the ballbuster on Nov 6th. If you and junior want to come along for that you'd be very welcome
