Reminder: Tuesday Chaingang

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Me too. Felt much better riding this weekend so seemed to have shifted whatever bug it was in the system. I got some extra strength training hauling my buckled rear wheel a good 15 miles or so

You know I could really hang on longer if we could just take it steady out of CSS to the m-way junction - I need a long warming-up period (honest, did a 10 at Maidenhead Thicket, rubbish time - went for a 50-60 mile ride finishing over the end of the 10 course and rode it faster than I had in the actual event - sickening

Now hear this you B group rebels, slow the pace a bit so Amy can hang on a little longer. :D

Sorry Amy, as much as my fault as anyone's as I've set the pace out of CSS a couple of times. Just sit 2nd or 3rd wheel this week and if your struggling make it known when the others pass you.

I should be out tomorrow but prob with the A group, be good to see few more B's back this week though.

Now I'll feel bad about holding people back. Though I do think it might be better for the Bs to regroup after the hill outside Reigate otherwise we're in pieces just as we should be really starting to work together.

I would try and sit a bit further down the group but no one seems to want to get going so I go off on the front, try to hang on to the As and get slaughtered  As I get dropped and die I do try and indicate by waving my elbow to get those behind me to come past.

Normally wheezing to much to gasp out whether I'm struggling - not to mention trying to keep the B mob in hand...

But thanks for the thought, Ant :D

I think the Bs (or any group) should stay together past the M23 junction. Better to wind up to speed slowly. Might be safer too to allow the A's to get away before launching the B's - otherwise it's a damned long line out of the station carpark. Though I like the wounded pigeon impression.

Saying all that, I'm unlikely to make tomorrow. Didn't get back until 7:20 tonight. I hate public transport and I hate London. Feeling a bit ambivalent about SOA as well.

I haven't got the light yet, I hope to have it delivered tomorrow at work and have it charged and ready for the CG.

Well, you'll certainly hear me if I'm coming down the hill to CSS - that Vento has the noisiest freewheel I've ever had

Hope I don't puncture if that rim is as hard as people say it is for getting tyres on and off - I'll be sitting pathetically at the side of the road...

First puncture at first roundabout, just after CSS. Galeb stayed to help even though I insisted he carries on. We then ridden all the way to Gatwick roundabout and we were back in Coulsdon by 9:05. Unfortunately I had second puncture at the same place where I had the first one so had to take train home. Not bad after all as I managed to do the ride and not completely ruin Galeb's first CG.

Galeb thanks, for staying to help!

Off to order some new tyres now as the two I have, have had it.
