Addiscombe Sportive helpers list 2011

Postby Alan M » Thu Nov 04, 2010 4:58 pm

I have already had lots of help and offers are continuing to come in without a need to excerpt pressure. How kind you are

Huw has helped with ideas and advice
Elliot is working on the website
Phil Nash has liaised over finance and has offered to do the sag wagon
Conor is going to supply signs and help me place them
Andrew Green designed and has mapped the course. He has made many revisions and rode the course with me last Saturday (in the rain)
Monty has chatted with potential sponsors, GBs and Nonna's cafe
Sean has encouraged from afar
Amy has volunteered, potentially refreshments HQ
so has Mike Ingram
and Kieran
and Tim
And Phil Hawkes, Potentially feed stop
And George, Potentially sign retrieving on Sunday
and Camdens x2, potentially signposting on Saturday
And Rachel First Aider
And TimNick (who he?) on parking marshal
And Dudley Samuels, Guest, Luciano Cycles, signing on desk
And Joyce, to sign certificates
And Philip O’Connor, Sportive Photo Limited, Photos and supply numbers

My feeling is I need help in the following areas
meeting and greeting and parking 2/3
registration and certification 3/4
refreshment HQ 4/5 - I am particularly looking for someone to organise this
Feed Station/ brevet. 3/4 (probably Barns Green)
Start and finish brevet/timing 3
sag wagon 1/2
First aider 1
Mule bars is providing at cost energy bars
Cycle Dauphin will distribute flyers and offer participants some discount
we hope to get some support from Nonna's cafe and Geoffrey Butler

have I left anyone out? - if so SORRY.

Other help needed is potentially around publicity, flyers, photography and anything else you can think of.

Also I won't be around for the AGM or the dinner and dance so I am looking for someone with the powers of persuasion to enthuse others to help or participate

so all seems pretty good so far and if you don't want to commit to help no worries but please help by entering or encouraging others to do likewise

cheers, let me know on this thread or by pm

Alan

plan, estimate need, purchase what will be needed etc, through me ensure necessary arrangements with the school. I haven't really decided on what basis we will offer refreshments, free or for sale and one option is that Nonna's cafe at Coulsdon could set up a cafe on our behalf. I haven't discussed it with them yet although Monty has broached it with them.

Alan, I should be able to help out (presuming I haven't won the lottery or somethin')...how about meet and greet and parking helper?....I can use my well honed skills from a student holiday job years ago (mis)loading ferries from Poole to France and the Channel Is....dont worry as long as I write L and R on the back of the hands I should be fine!!!

P.S...watch out if that's the Connor I know doing the signage....it'll probably end up in Gaelic (or just wonky)...

Much appreciated. Parking attendant post successfully filled. Can you car wash as well? :)

A suggestion on the refreshment front. How about having something with pasta - two options, one veg? Or soup? Don't know if we could get some of those barrel things that keep soup heated (yes, I know it'll be summer but soup might still be welcome)

I don't know about anyone else but savoury is a good option after gels and the like all day :D

Sorry, if it's all in hand...

Probably we're gonna outsource to the Coulsdon cafe, Nonna's. Food at HQ is not included in the price so I am keen to minimise organisation and use of school's resources. Thanks for the idea - i'll discuss it further

Hi Alan, well done in getting your idea off the ground! Jane and I can help with any of the categories, or we can sign up to ride - either way we're keen to support. Help-wise, if it's first aid, we're both British Association of Ski Patrollers (BASP) Emergency First Aid trained and in-date, and as I'd done same before, plus St Johns etc I'm confident, Jane was 1st time so would pref to work with me if it was reqd. Happy to use car but not as bloodwagon...

Cheers, Steve n Jane

Steve, why don't you sign up. It would be great if you could do so soon and help bolster the numbers. Thanks for your kind offer.

Cheers, Alan

We're both signed up. If you need us to switch to helping duties nearer the time, just say. Well done Alan!
