Club Run Sat 13 Nov 2010

Postby Tim Coales » Thu Nov 11, 2010 2:44 pm

Greetings everyone!
Please DON'T use this topic as a general discussion about the club-run! we are aiming to keep the thread short and snappy each week and provide a place for members to quickly see any variations to the regular rides (eg coastal rides) or alternatives rides that are planned. Thanks! :D
(VC's please note there is now a Club Run Co-ordination subforum for us to communicate Club Run plans etc. before posting here each week.)
Separate topics could also be posted for MTB rides and Sunday/midweek rides if people have plans (some of you already do this eg "Tuesday chain gang")
AFTER the ride all members are welcome to post your ride feedback here (it doesn't matter how long the thread becomes after the ride)

How its looking so far!
Alternative routes/destinations planned:
A. 18mph: (subject to weather) Andrew G - Chipstead Valley, Walton-on-the-hill, Brockham, Henfold, pick up normal route at Newdigate. May do the reverse of normal route back if anyone fancies it, same pace.
B. (subject to weather) Peter S -Assuming it's good weather we are going down Little Switzerland, over Ranmore, up to Leith Hill and Coldharbour before dropping down to Ockley where I'm hoping the cafe will be open failing that we'll head for Tanhouse Farm.
Regular Charlwood Club Run
Training Group: Keith
19mph:
18mph: Suggest this group takes the Alternative route (A. above) with Andrew G ( ) and
George "I will be out but not in training group as cx race on Sunday. Will ride to charlwood poss with  " Brent - but up to you!
17mph: Jon Camden (if needed)
16mph:
15mph:
J4F/Beginners: (not this week but some interest for Sat 27th Nov - Claire & Sophina from J4F on 6 Nov)
Return Routes
Regular (Horley/Lonesome Lane/Earswood/Redhill):
Boxhill:
Reverse clubrun: Andrew G (possibly)

I did ask Marco to set this up in the old committee reports section - once I've posted here I'll go and have a look.

I intend to be out - but please don't let it be raining like it just did here in London. All the idiots were standing in the doorway to M&S and then got miffed because I had to push past them to actually get into the store

I'm hoping for a 17s but can do 15/16s if needed.

Goes down Pebble Mike, I'll be using gears this week. Do-able descent on fixed but not a friendly one.

Good club run today and good shout by George to go left at Newdigate and back through Parkgate and up Partridge from the other side. Partridge is a lovely lane and a shame it's not travelled so often.

For those that liked the route I did to the cafe today, or those that would like to try it, I'll be going to the cafe that way most weeks over winter unless I do a different ride to a normal club run.

Came back the short Redhill way and spun along nicely, a generally smooth big group rolling along although I thought someone was deciding to play chicken with a Range Rover at one point. Not wise.

Ta ta.

Andrew.
