And I thought it was a pulled muscle...

Postby Amy » Fri Nov 12, 2010 1:07 pm

Thought I'd pulled a muscle in my abdomen last Saturday night and it's been aching and making it awkward sleeping all week. Very uncomfortable yesterday and last night so this morning I went to the doctors'.

A bit of prodding and questions and I found myself heading up to St Helier Hospital (my worst nightmare) for a couple of blood tests and to make an appointment for an ultrasound scan  Possibly something to do with my liver...

Oh well, may explain why I've been off the pace last couple of weeks with the chaingang. Didn't ask but the doctor didn't say I should not cycle (I explained that I should have good lungs for all the cycling I do) but probably shouldn't do the chaingang and only take it easy on the club run until I find out what is wrong :(

You see, all that binge drinking....

Trust it's nothing serious and clears up soon. Replied to your other post about putting stuff in the loft.

Fingers crossed it's something trivial and easily sorted.

Thanks, everyone. I feel like someone's been kicking around my insides - it seems to vary (helped by Solpedeine) - but it's only small fry compared to poor Toby.

I nearly came out this morning but just as I was about to get dressed I felt so rubbish I went back to bed - later the Solpedeine kicked in and I got on the train up to Corridori to buy my new wheels. However I did manage to get a lift back home from my mate there, Smiffy. Funny, Guy*, the owner of the shop, said could I come and take him away every week

Apparently the first thing they tested is normal and I don't need antibiotics (don't know if that's good or bad to be honest...) and the blood tests should come back Monday or Wednesday depending on who to believe.

Otherwise I feel pretty ok. Hopefully it's just a minor infection somewhere and easily cleared up and I can get on with working my way back up the groups :P

*is it me, or does every bike shop have to have at least one person who works there called Guy? I forgot to ask when I was in Cyclopedia near Surbiton.

Here's how the confusion arises:

Amy: "I'd like to buy some new wheels please".
Shop assistant: "Go and ask that guy over there".

P.S. Hope you're feeling better soon

So far so good - ok results for the wee and blood but the doc still wants me to go for the ultrasound before he'll be completely happy to say nothing's wrong.

Either it was just a passing infection left over from that coldy type thing I had or it was, just, a pulled muscle from turning over funny in bed. I've been feeling better since I went to the doctors' and pretty much ache-free now

I may yet be out on the chaingang next week :D
