April sunshine in Mallorca

Been thinking about posting this for awhile now. You never know, with enough notice we might get a few people out

I think we normally have a group who go to Mallorca for some early sun and miles and I would like to head over there this time but I would like to be based in Porta Pollenca in the north-east corner of the island as I prefer that side of the island (even a half-day ride to Cap de Formentor* is amazing ).

This is just a post to see if anyone is interested and when in April to aim for - the period between Easter and the end of April seems a good one but might be rather popular for whatever reasons

Once enough people have indicated interested we could move this post to the Trips section and get on with the nitty-gritty of planning and co-ordinating.

*I've been to two hotels in PP and my favourite one is the one on the Formentor Road - ?Playa Mar? It has mini-apartments which gives you a bit more room and generally quieter than the Pollenca Park Hotel

the sis pins hotel is really nice, recently been bought, and looking really smart, with a great view over the bay

I'll be stepping in to Tamar's shoes (size 15s in this instance) and promoting our 25 nest year while she cycles around the World, or part of it, with Keith. I'd be grateful if a clash could be avoided, I know Easter Sunday won't necesarily be the easiest day to get helpers for but I didn't request a date change as it would have put out a number of our neighbouring clubs to switch from our usual slot, just happens to be Easter next year.

But Mr Hemming, do pick a date that would be most convenient for you - I have no preference. I'm sure I'll be putting my name down to help at the ACC Open 25

There was some interest expressed on the club run!!

Just to say, that the format this normally takes is that we have a rough idea of when we want to be out there and people book planes and hotels according to how long they want/can afford to be out there.

Whilst there, people ride mostly together though it would be nice to have enough to split into different speed groups. The way I was riding on Saturday, I'll probably be pootling around on my own and just sight-seeing.

Yeah, I'd like to get out there next year, Elliot. So spread the word and get people interested

Any preferences for where? And if Mr Green and Mr Hemming could indicate when would be the most convenient time

I have plans for next year Amy that make a trip to Mallorca very unlikely for me, or any trip in the first half of the year. My only concern would be that I would be grateful if Easter Sunday was avoided for a club trip as I'm promoting the 25 on that day and will be asking for helpers of which we need quite a few for that event. Hopefully that doesn't spanner any works.

So the week straight after Easter (then we only need book 3 days off ) or the first week of May? The last week of April could be hard to book off unless we're quick...
