I'd like to remind all that in the recent club survey, the second most commonly raised point under "What do you not like about the club?" related to slagging and bickering on the web forum.

Only 11% (12 people) said this.

True, so 89% welcomed the slagging and bickering as it made a change from having to be polite to each other on the CR. For example if it weren't for our differing views on Mr Armstrong Marco and I would be left with only friendly chats on the occasional mtb ride or in the cafe.

But slagging and bickering is not the same as being offensive, or libelous

Look, I didn't want to stir anything up and I'm quite used to the level of banter in what is practically a male-dominated environment but things were a tad on the offensive side and I didn't even want to see what Sean was going to come up with. I accept that some remarks may have started out in jest but that they didn't come over well... Not very good if you're trying to attract women into the club which I understand is a main drive for some people.

Perhaps it would be better to remove my thread on the Wandle wildlife altogether.

Anyway, please don't shoot anybody (least of all me). I'm off to see what's left of my trains home...

Well if that's an old photo of you Marco, perhaps the point the poster is making is that you have become devilishly handsome since you first became an internet moderator ?

Do you need to know anything about computers ?...........I fancy giving it a go.

I think Marco has really let himself go since that picture was taken.

I fear that might indeed be the case.

As you leave your naive adolescent years behind you, and enter into adulthood, you will learn the cunning and subtle art of "slagging someone off without being offensive".
