Club membership via paypal.

It's up the creek mate - some stupid policy @ their end. I know committee are looking into other alternatives shame as paypal is easy......until it ain't

I thought it was explained reasonably well at the AGM: for an organisation to take payment (over a certain total amount) by Paypal, it needs to confirm and have a credit card. Club has no credit card. The initial setup was done by someone else using a personal card so the names don't match and Paypal's money laundering alarm goes off. Or something.

So it could be done if the club had a credit card but does the club want a credit card?

I paid via direct bank transfer (and set up a standing order). Which means that Paypal don't get a cut.

That's how I understood it Phil.

Also Phil N is looking in to using and setting up online payment for the club (memberships/dinner etc) through SiEntries who are doing the sportive. It takes time, Phil's own, so please be patient folks and it should be in place as soon as Phil can arrange it.

I set up a standing order 9 years ago and have never had to bother with remembering to renew my sub's since. Simples.
