2011 TT Schedules

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Only sent off for 3 so far:

3/4 Sydenham Wheelers Open 25 Q25/20
17/4 SCCU 25 G25/53
24/4 ACC Open 25 G25/53

Maybe try to locate a suitable 50. And then there's the club 10s too.

Don't send them in too early Phil. I send my entries in a couple of weeks before, unless say a National with an earlier closing date.
Hopefully you'll be improving your times through he season so your entry form will need updating. If you enter bundles of events too early then you just have to phone the organisers up to let them know your new time for any handicap prizes on offer, and depending on how far down the line they are the seeding and startlist order.

Just seen this, yes the G25/53 is a flat DC course but with some drags that aren't always a bundle of fun.

SCCU 25 and ACC 25 may be switched to G25/45 due to roadworks, 45 course heads north on A24 to Beare Green then back down A29, a little wiggle and a flick and then up to Southwater and back on the 53 DC section. I'm waiting for confirmation about whether a course change is needed for our event.

Hi Andrew,

Could you give me a few pointers of how and where to enter TTs.
I'm not too sure on the rules and regulations regarding events held/run by other clubs and cycling bodies inside and outside of Surrey etc.
Cheers mate.

Basically the events run by other clubs and associations for anyone to enter are "Open" TTs and you can enter any anywhere in the country apart from some special acceptances (association events of which your club is not a member as an example). You just need to fill in a CTT entry form (downloadable from http://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/) and send it off with a cheque to the event organiser. The CTT site also has some other info you may find useful under the dropdowns.

Have a shufty at this thread Ed (http://www.addiscombe.org/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8249&hilit=tt+talk+notes) as that may answer a lot of the questions you have but feel free to ask if it doesn't. Don't know why quote marks etc have gone all funny on the post but it should still be readable enough.

Also there are someuseful links on the TT forum including a link to their course record and maps section which contains quite a few courses mapped out for you to see where they go- http://www.timetriallingforum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=22761.

Is anybody else entering the National 50? I probably will as it is local and George is interested.

Yes, I'm entering the National 50. I like the Bentley courses and if I stand a chance of getting in a National and it's local then it's nice to ride in races with the best in the country. I was off so early last year I had time to ride back to finish and then ride back to the start in time to see Hutch go off  .

I got in last year, albeit as one of the slowest with a 2.05, improved to a 2.04 for this year's entry so hopefully I'll get in again.

I've entered the North Hampshire 50 on the same course, I expect that will have a lot of fast men in it trying to get better times for National entry. It's in the usual Charlotteville slot but as they are running the National this year NH have taken it on. I'll also be riding the a3crg 50 at Liss which is on the course the National was run on last year (lovely course if you can make that one), although I think National entries need to be in before this event if I improve my time in it then I can call the organiser and update them.
