Subject: University of Kent - Cycling Research
Hi Geoff,
I'm a PhD student at the University of Kent, currently doing research in cycling performance.
I was wondering if you'd mind letting your cycling groups (and anyone else you think might be interested) know about the cycling research we currently have going on at the University of Kent - which would enable participants to have a number of cycling performance tests done completely free of charge!
We're currently looking at the impact of ageing on cycling performance, and are looking to recruit trained male cyclists aged 18-30 to take part in the study. It would require 4 visits to our sports science labs (either in Canterbury or Gillingham) to undergo a series of tests including VO2max, Wingate, cycling efficiency and performance time trial tests.
We are, however, also looking for physically active non-cyclists aged 50-75 to take part - so if any cyclists' dads/uncles/colleagues/friends want to compete against their sons/friends/colleagues..etc and see how they do compared to a trained cyclist we'd love to hear from anyone interested! It's a brilliant opportunity to experience a sports science laboratory environment first hand!
For more information on the study, the research, and tests involved, my contact details are hg70@kent.ac.uk or mobile number is 07826519399.
Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Hannah
