Redhill Sporting TT

Postby George » Sun Feb 20, 2011 4:23 pm

This morning there were 4 Agreeables entered into this early season sporting time trial.

Carl F, Keith L, Paul H and myself.
It starts in Dorking and is aan 18 mile blast up over the downs at Holmbury St Mary where the mtb trails are then down to Oakwoodhill then a fast blast up the A29 to finish almost where our Holmwood 10 does.

Good weather conditions this morning, the roads had almost dried overnight and very little wind although we did require an extra layer just to get us to the start line.
This was my first event back after tearing my hamstring and I was still suffering the effects right at the top of my leg, towards the end of the ride I could really feel some pain in the tendons so didn't really open it up on the run back in.

Was caught by my 3 min man Wouter Sybrandy at 13 miles who rode to a new course record by over a minute and a half, although I did catch a fair few riders

Carl F 45.20...... great ride by Carl on his superb Specialized TT machine :D
Keith L 49.02......couple of beers n curry but still rode well cos i didn't catch ya!
George B 44.20.....about a minute off my fastest round here but quite happy
Paul H 46.39......suffering again from the training group, or maybe it was the wheels, or maybe it was the aero helemt

Thanks guys, think i finished in a time of 46.52 although there is time of 45.20 next to my name?? but still reasonably happy with that, didn't really proper hammer it until the last couple of miles or so as i didn't know the roads to well. The ACC got 2nd team though!
Well done George Paul and Keith exellent times, good conditions today and a good lumpy course although the last few draggy miles on the A25 were testing on the mind and legs.....
Sorry paul and George couldn't hang around for a cup of tea with you had to get back quick

Thanks for the excuse George, but being frog-marched by friends to the local curryhouse for a few Cobras & a vindaloo had little bearing on the time. It was basically an early training ride for me after the lurgy. Whatever I got had has made a significant dent in both my top end & my endurance. Not to worry though - it's only February after all.

Nice bike, saddle bit high - is that a pee-box at the bottom?
