I could still use 3 or 4 more helpers please. Myself, and all the riders, would be very grateful.

Thank you.

Stinks doesn't it? With just over a month to go we still need help to put on one of our flagship events. It's when I read stuff like this that I am not proud to be a member of this club. Being a member of a club should be about more than turning up on a Saturday morning and smiling for the cameras. It should be about helping out and supporting your club mates - without them having to practically beg for it.

Why is this post not a sticky.

If we are unable to fully support our existing commitments, perhaps the club should reconsider running extra events which we are not obliged to do in the future.

If it's still possible could I be marshalling in a spot near Paul H please Andrew? So that we could travel together. Thanks

I know I'm down to ride but if we are that short- -I can marshal- have you got Jo down to marshal as well?

If I marshal- can I wear the leather chaps as well?

Thanks Sylv, should be okay for you and Paul to [insert brummie accent] "be to-gether".

Ian, thanks for the offer but you don't get off that easy  . I want to see you in your lycra  , in fine form I hear. Yes I have Jo helping at the finish.

Paul, I hadn't made it sticky as the initial wave of offers filled half the spots within 24 hours of my sending out the mass email. Slowed down since but with a bit of CR calling, forum bouncing, and thanks to Jon for his help putting out the word in his weekly email I think I'm just about there. I agree about fulfilling commitments.

Hopefully if I have time tonight I'll send an email to all those who have offered their time and services to confirm contact details (i.e. I have the correct email addresses) and give you the event information including a map of the course and the HQ details so you know where to go. I'll also attach a copy of where I have allocated people, all early volunteers have had requests for specific jobs/locations catered for.

Thank you for the offers ladies and gentlemen. I'll be at CSS doing a shout out on Saturday if I still need a bod or two :) .

Thank you to everyone who has offered their services, WE NOW HAVE A FULLY SUPPORTED EVENT :D 8) .

I have sent an email to everyone who has volunteered which will hopefully give you some information and answer some questions you may have. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, and I'll contact you again nearer the time with a final confirmation and then to send you all a copy of the startsheet - which will be in the week before the event.

Thanks again, I've just got to book a nice warm sunny day now.

Sounds like a plan.

One of the things that often gets missed in this debate is that there are a lot of folk in ACC who do far more than their fair share. In previous years I've tended to marshal or help at between 4 to 6 events each year. You could argue my behaviour lets between 3 to 5 sponging slackers off the hook. This year I am resolved to doing my bit. One event. If everyone who goes above and beyond resolved to just do their bit, i.e. the one event which they are obliged to (OK two in the case of active racers) then the events side of ACC would shudder to a halt in no time. I accept this might be embarrassing for the club as it is forced to cancel promoted events, it may also force some more creative thinking around encouraging greater participation from the wider membership.

Mr , any further developments on the potential course change?

If it's looking likely I'd appreciate a copy of the risk assessment for the alternative course so I can check we've got the correct type and quantity of signs.

Tony is hopeful that his event the week before will be okay but is quietly confident we won't have to move as they like this sort of thing finished before Easter holidays. I'll forward you a copy of the risk assessment just incase. By the way do you have the chequered flag in you box of signs?

I've got a chequered board. Usually the timekeepers bring a flag too.
