Just Andrew, Rob and myself were riding the Bletchingly 21 mile tt this morning. Its got to be one of the hilliest sporting courses and a real lung testing early season show of form.
All us Agreeables were all clustered fairly close together and I had 3 mins to catch Andrew and 5 for Robert.
After a lung opener up the hill for a quick test warm up i was ready for the off. Straight into a long drag climbing up through Bletchingly high street where I passed Geraldine.
Starting as no. 10 I knew that with a bit of effort I possibly could finish first man on the road, was reeling in the riders infront then after Outwood on that nasty little drag I took Andrew and a few minutes later passed Robert stuck in the wrong gear going up Outwood lane near the chequred flag on the first lap, but we still had another one to go.
I was feeling good and not too stressed, I have felt as though I have suffered big time around this course in the previous years but today seemed a breeze.
Up Scotts hill and passed Geoff Smith, Eastbourne Rovers so was leader on the road. Really pushed as hard as I could up the final climb to the finish where tons of Redhill CC supporters were spectating, they didn't give me too much encouragement as they didn't want me to beat their Redhill riders
Over the line and rolled on to thank Snoop and Joyce for marshalling on the corner by the pub, then had a nice cool down spin to Godstone and back. Well done to Andrew for gaining a minute back from the timekeeper at the finish to enable him to do a splendid sub hour ride
