Agree with Marco. There's a lot of dross on FB and Twitter. Rambling inanities appearing on my wall from friends "waiting for boiler repairman...lol". Also a lot of companies block these sites so we cannot access them from work.
The forum is the best place to let everyone know what is going on. And in that spirit:

I'm sitting at my desk having a nice cup of coffee before a meeting at 9

Forum's enough for me.

Gave up on my Facebook account for various reasons but two of the main ones being I couldn't be bothererd and, even I could, I didn't have the time. I can see some of these things can have a use for some people but for the most part they seem to be filled with dross and inanities as Dom says.

Personally having the one place for everything is a heck of lot simpler. How is anyone going to know there's a 'quick announcement' on the twitter account? It'd be like some of the current awareness checking I used to do at work - sometimes it would be weeks between anything changing and yet I had to keep checking several times a day, just in case...

Not to mention that not everybody has internet or email, even in this day and age....

As my crackberry is for work it is also disabled for twitter, facestalk and internet mail eg hotmail, gmail etc. I don't have an iPhone as my classic Nokia 6310i still works fine for calls/texts and i prefer to listen to music on CDs. If i need to play Angry Birds I can always borrow one of the little Dombos' iThingies.

As Amy says the forum is more than adequate and, if in doubt, a quick nip down to CSS at 0900 on a Saturday or Sunday and log in to the Mk I Eyeball should garner a wealth of info as to what's going on in the club.

I don't have a Twitter account and rarely look at Facebook.

I'd suggest that pretty much every future member of ACC does.

P.S. What was in your sandwich Dombo?

@ACC just dropped one in the kitchen. Its a stinker. Had to open windows and put dog outside stop him walking in it. Splatted all over kitchen floor. Didn't realise eggs smelt so bad when they've gone off. Must stop juggling with them.
