5 June Sportive sag wagon

Postby Alan M » Fri May 13, 2011 10:50 am

I am looking for 2 volunteers + van or similar - There will be a mechanics service so this is really to compliment it by offering to recover cyclists and bikes in the event of something that cannot be repaired or riders that are too tired to complete. On the recently held May flyer there were 3 or 4 such recoveries mainly towards the end of the ride. If you are already on the volunteer list above I will have allocated you to a duty already so no need to reply, many thanks, Alan

Alan, I've got the (estate) car for the day so could help if individuals need recovering. I might struggle with mass abandonments though. Unless something's gone badly wrong, you won't need a sag wagon all day, so it might be possible to fit in around other duties.

Thanks George, that would be helpful. Mike maybe we can keep you in reserve for the earlier session but I think want you to be on site to act as a second point of reference/coordinator in case I get distracted by any emergencies or unforeseen problems. Other offers still open to be considered and yes we probably need a few more helpers on the day. Also at some point in the week preceding I will need someone to collect a life size manekin dressed in ACC kit from GB and deliver it to the school Friday afternoon. Sort of a mascot publicity thing! BTW I have decided to put in a second Feed station about 20 miles from the end but just a quick roadside refill just before the last set of hills.we will be giving away gels and bars at the start so all should have enough to sustain.

cheers

Alan
