Thanks guys, Glad I got my 3rd cat license especially seeing as I dont/cant sprint.
Not much to write up for this race really, I felt really good and was highly motivated to win by going away solo as I had done and nearly succeeded in doing at the first Hove crit.
Thing is the other people racing were not really up for that as i think they were all there to win as well
.
Did the Lions share of the work then with 5 laps to go had a few digs to soften up the 4 other guys that were left with me. Just a little power climb of about 30 seconds so enough to get the heart going. every lap I tried but with every 10 metre gap I could pull out I would be caught on the descent around the corner and then onto the back straight.
Last lap and 2 of the 4 other guys whom had been passengers for the whole race suddenly appeared went round me and into the sharp left before the climb, folllowed by a Brighton Mitre rider who had also done quite a bit of work (he seemed really strong, he was the only one who seemed to drag me back after each attack).
I was left with a big Lewes wanderers rider, I was toast by now so just let him go knowing i had done enough to go up to 3rd cat.
Not how I planned it out but a good workout none the less. 30 minutes at 295 watts, 328 Normalized. 59.7 kilos
