Yes well done Carl, great ride great result :D

If you rode like a sack of spuds Sylv, then I was just a few potato peelings
19 laps I lasted when my legs went. I could feel the energy slowly ebbing away lap after lap until 'twang', and the very fine strand of elastic that had kept me attached for the previous 3 or 4 laps, snapped. I had, up until about lap 12, felt ok enough to forage forward to try and keep mid pack. This was mainly to keep away from one particular rider who was 'just annoying me' basically. Anyway, a bit of yoyoing each lap (moving forward when I could and then sliding back slightly up the hill) kept me in the pack, but ultimately not for much longer. The breakaway that went off the front meant the pace picked up, the main bunch chased, my legs lost power, and they fell off. I watched the rest from the bench.
It was a great race to watch with a break containing 5 riders getting away. 2 then got dropped and were joined by another couple of riders from out of the bunch. Quite exciting really, wish I could be in a race like that - Oh sh*t I was

The excitement of finishing top 10 in the first race seems an age away. But hey, there's always next week

See you there

Steve
