Looking for a new waterproof

Any recommendations?

It needs to be lightweight and packable but able to keep most of the what the weather's been throwing at us of late - and if there's a female version all the better (so long as it's not PINK )

I have a craft one from GBs, only cost about £40 and is very lightweight and scrunches up in to it's own rear pouch/pocket, and then tucks in a jersey pocket easy-peasy. So far it's performed well and certainly been worth forty notes. Nice soft collar too.

Montane ones at Evans (maybe other places but being CTC you'll get a 10% discount at Evans) also cost me about £40 and is also light and pretty good. Not quite as small, light or good as the craft but still well worth the £40.

I wouldn't expect either to keep me bone dry in a monsoon but in normal rain they've both been fine, I haven't overheated in them either but have stayed warm when the temperature dropped.

My Parrott one is pretty good. Soft collar, fits into rear pocket and protects from normal cold/rain. Only trouble is it does inflate at speed so I look like a yellow airbag with eyes.

If money is an issue, then the B'Twin rain jacket 3 from Decathlon is a penny shy of £10. It is light, folds/rolls up really small and keeps you as dry(ish) and warm as many much more expensive waterproofs. It is available in 6 colours (none of which could even be considered as pink) and has reflective piping.

Thanks for the suggestions - I do rather like the Craft stuff and they do ladies specific stuff (so I won't have the problem of things being snug on the hips and ballooning round the waist...) £40 in GBs isn't too bad considering what you can pay for a waterproof

Think I'll pass on the Parrott - don't fancy the "airbag with eyes" look
