Countryfile was on in the background whilst I was running around doing some chores....on hearing this comment, I remember thinking Royale-family style : Three minutes...my arse!

More seriously - having secured no tickets to any Olympic Event so far, I was consoling myself with being able to watch the road-race for free and thought somewhere around Box Hill would be good. However, it appeared to imply that access to Box Hill will be tightly managed. Anyone know how? I believe the Olympic tickets sold for the RR are for the Mall, not Box Hill.

Box Hill is an SSSI (because of the wildlife and such) so they can't really allow unrestricted access. There should be quite a few points on that loop where you'll be able to see though.

Having discussed the matter with my son, we belive that the fairest way is that in order to be allowed in to watch the race on the hill, you have to be a) a local and b) capable of riding up it in under 12 minutes.
