Hey Taffy

I'm suddenly feeling inspired to join The Agreeables TFL team to log in my miles. I've done 128 miles this weekend alone, which will put us in the top 10 of the under-10 member category. I'm sure you've done some mileage this weekend too. I see that no-one has logged any miles yet though, so is this team still happening or what?

Cheers
Jp

I logged yesterday's efforts - 50 mile TT + warm up and the Box Hill loop with Tom in the afternoon.

Logged my 129 miles this weekend, thanks to the L2B for helping, bit sore now though.

We currently have 6 members, 4 have posted miles and we have logged 431 miles to date putting us at the top of the 2-10 category with 1930 points, 107 clear of second place.

Please help keep us at the top of the leaderboard, you not only help the club win something, you also put our name in lights. What better way to advertise to the cycling public.

Good job team. What do you reckon? Should we cap membership at 10 people to stay in the 2-10 category? If we go beyond 10 then we'll be in the 11-50 category - that's a huge amount of people to try to rope in to increase our chances of winning anything!

Well as it stands we have 7 members now. We are 1st in the 2-10 Category with 3054 points and 606 miles logged. 2nd place are 916 points and 176 miles behind. Prizes in this category are 1st £75, 2nd £35 and 3rd £20.

Looking at the next category 11-50 the top team are at 7585 points and 1325 miles. If we have 30 riders that just logged 45 miles for Saturdays ride for example we would be top I believe. So this category is a possible considering our average so far is currently 86 miles per member. So at that rate only 16 members needed. Prizes in this category are 1st £150, 2nd £75 and 3rd £40.

Looking at the next category 51-100 the top team are at 11234 points and 1768 miles. If we have 51 riders that just logged 45 miles for Saturdays ride for example we would definitely be top with 2295+ miles. A nice healthy 527 mile lead. Prizes in this category are 1st £350, 2nd £150 and 3rd £75.

Looking at the next category 101+ the top team that can win are at 16434 points and 2276 miles. If we have 101 riders that just logged 45 miles for Saturdays ride for example we would be top with 4545 miles. A nice healthy lead of 2269 miles. And since there is currently only 1 team that can win in this category we are guaranteed 2nd and £350 as it stands. The next team that could make this category need 11 more members but only have 5370 points and 810 miles logged then its 30 members required with 3644 points and 419 miles. So they not currently a real threat. Prizes in this category are 1st £750, 2nd £350 and 3rd £150.

So yes I think we should really look at moving up the groups so please all start signing up, this is possibly an easy £750 for the club, which we could all benefit from.

Up to 8 members now, ty to all that have joined.

We have 3761 Points and 829 Miles and are still in first place in the 2-10 category. 2nd place has changed a bit and they have 3623 Points and 514 Miles. So we have a 138 point lead although we have logged 315 Miles more. the reason for this is that they have 10 riders and the points work as follows:

0-24 Miles earns 10 Points per mile
25-49 Miles earns 5 Points per mile
50+ Miles earns 2 points per mile

Thus a team of 10 where all have logged 50 miles will have 3670 Points where as a team of 2 which have logged 250 Miles each will only have 1534 Points. This is a big difference considering both teams have covered 500 miles. Therefore we seriously need 2 more riders to join to benefit from all the bonus points gained at the lower mileage count.

So basically it's only worth claiming rides of up to 24 miles, 48 or 49 miles, or 120+ miles.

No Jon, all rides even 1 mile is worth adding. What it is saying is your first 24 miles booked will gain 10 points per mile, the next 25 miles booked will get 5 points per mile and so on, once your over 50 miles all subsequent mileage is 2 points. These are cumulative miles not individual miles thus if you book 50 miles in one go, or 10 miles over 5 days the points you will have will be the same.

The reason for the points being this way is to give larger teams a boost, and you maybe ask why, do they really need it if the team is larger. Either its too encourage more people to register or to make it worth while having members who won't do many miles, compared to us doing masses of miles. Probably a bit of both. But if we have 10 people like the other teams in this group then its an even keel then.

If we decide to go over 10 then we want to do it with a bang and try to get to 50 as quick as possible, but that will take some doing considering the slow uptake so far. So any help on this would be appreciated.

Wayne you have been added, looking forward to you booking your million miles, remember to back date to Saturday.

Wayne I hope you have put in the mileage for each day and not a big lump on one day.

BTW I have reported the Sandwich Man, who apparently cycles 533 miles every day!!!

We starting to lag a little behind the real first place, but hopefully the weekend rides will give it a boost.
