Sorry for the late post. Raced on Wednesday (Dulwich 5k) and was out all day yesterday.
Only three of us this week for more of the same. SteveB, me and Carl.
Both races were held up for about 10 minutes after a crash with one of the juniors.
Spent some of that time staring at Jake Martins wheels. They look awesome.
Got under way and the wind was pretty horrible. Pace up the hill and down the final straight was effected by this.
I was feeling a little stronger than last week so moving up the bunch a better and keeping position.
I had few lap where I absolutely nailed the hairpin. Was very pleased with myself.
Like last week the bunch was well "bunching" on some laps up on the top of the climb.
I could move up on the inside when I got the chance but other times it was hairy. I touched wheels with a london dynamo rider and gave me a fright.
Few breaks off the front including Carl who was looking super strong.
Then the winning break came in the latter stages with Dulwich Paragon and a bigfoot rider. Not sure went first and who bridged but there was a
large contingent of Dulwich paragon in the field and the bunch was slowing.
Wasn't paying attention to the number of laps left when the bell went and everyone is going crazy.
Someone in front decides chucks out a water bottle for saving weight only for it to roll back on to the track which I do well to avoid.
Coming into the hairpin on the final lap, I seemed get a little bit swamped and by the bottom of the hill I lie around 20th.
I over took a few riders but didn't contend the sprint finishing outside the top ten to fifteen.
So second outing and again came away with nothing but a bit more knowledge in how Palace works.
