SL Alfold/kirford

Turned up to do the Alfold circuit but due to road works springing up they changed it to Kirford which meant nearly a 15min ride to the start,so not much need for a warm up.The whole race was people trying to get away but not fully committing to the effort and then sinking back in to the bunch.I even tried about half way through the race to break away with the hope some riders would come with me,they would come with me but would`nt fully commit so i`d sit up.they race went on like this until the start of the last lap when two Redhill went up the road and got a small gap.So i managed to ride across telling them we had a gap and should get the T and off going. So we dug in and of we went,we got a 43 sec gap but the circuit is quiet big and i could`nt remember were the finish was,i new it was on an uphill section then round a small corner to the finish line. But we were absolutely burying ourselves by about half way round and the gap had come down to 30 sec.I said to the other two that we can do it and we should dig in some more, cramp was now starting to get me and one of the other Redhill. So i took a leaf from the Paul Hone school of racing and in my head shoved the cramp in a box and put it in the back of my mind (plenty of space there).I noticed that the two Redhill were not coming round to do there turns as quick as they should so i had a quiet word with the and we got back at it.Next we went round a corner and there at last was the finish line, the only thing was they got the jump on me and started there sprint a couple of sec before me as i was on the back and did`nt see the line as soon as them. But i crossed the line in 3rd place with the pack charging down on us. FINALLY A BREAK THAT WORKED PHEWWWW
