Whitewebbs cc 10 NNNN Nearly!

Postby George » Sun Jul 03, 2011 9:12 am

Andrew, Jon and I rode on the F20/10 last night on a beautiful evening.

Team club record was on the cards as well if I was quick then Andrew and Jon would only have to cruise round for a 22 for the team club 10 record.

I knew I could do well today and wanted that 19 so bad, could tonight be the big night?

Paul had ridden over 60 miles through London to Hertfordshire to cheer us on at the turn which was a really nice surprise :D

George 20.04 pb by 30 seconds and almost 30mph :D
Jon 22.30 the second 10 of the day for Jon :D
Andrew 22.26 not bad after the 24 :D

Well we won the team prize but were only 15 seconds shy from that club record.
team 1.05.00 :o
A great evenings sport :D we all drove back in the van together and stopped off at the krispy kreme drive through for a bite to eat under the golden arches.

Big thanks to George for driving us there and back, bit if a trek to this course and was nice to travel up as a team :D .

Superb ride by George smashing his PB. Jon and I were very much going to be counters if we could get the team record but just couldn't quite manage it. Happy with my time as it's only my second Open 10 of the season (third in total). After the 24 I knew I wasn't going to have any problems blowing up and just nailed it, legs hurt without any speed work having been done to them but just kept hammering it as hard as I could. When I can "cruise round" for a 22 I'll be over the moon  .

Nice surprise to see PVT cheering at the roadside :D .

There was a slight breeze headwind on the way out last night, hardly anything but it it had been completely still like last year then think we'd have got the team record, and George the individual and a 19. Jon and I were both c25secs faster in the same event last year when it was absolutely perfect conditions.

Great stuff lads- I wanna go next time.

I guess this is a well fast course, and all your times are superb-what a great suprise by Mr PVT- that must have lifted everybody.

Well done all- sore twitchy legs last night?

It is a fast course Ian. Very slight dips and drags but nothing of note and a very slight inverted V profile, i.e. very slightly down to the turn and very slightly net up for the return. The turn is an elevated RAB but where the road drops so this effectively makes the turn a flat one. Good road surface too, although I did hit a hole on the return leg which made the front wheel make such a load crack as it hit I thought the thing was going to explode  , everything stayed in one piece though and it looks fine after a closer inspection. Just one of those things that makes your heart rate jump a touch.

well done lads keep up the good work. I'm sure a team record will fall sometime this year.
Well done George that 19 minute 10 is just around the corner.Good ride Andrew after the 24 , just a stroll in the park!
Come on Jon try that little bit harder you can do it.
Glad Paul seems to be over all his health problems.Do that 240 in the 12 in August.
