Old Portlians 10, 2/7/11

3 ACC in this morning's early TT on the Horsham (G10/57) course.

Good conditions - dry, nice and warm, very little wind and no early morning mist.

Got within a few seconds of my course PB, finishing in 23:16.
Rob R-E was a few seconds slower, 23:20.
Ian Munnery gave himself an early birthday prezzie with a new PB of 23:41.

:mrgreen: suitable indeed- 2 pints of Uri and a half bottle of cava at the hotel in the afternoon.
Top nosh for supper- more wine and a few voddies- all this for a long 23 :roll: :lol:

conditions were great for a change- I can't blame them this time. I managed to stay ahead of the man following behind, I saw he was quite close at the turn and really put a big effort in for the return leg, done the second bit in just over 11 mins.

New PB by some 26 seconds, so I was very pleased- but I am still 20 secs behind Robert-again, I go faster-he goes faster.

[quote="Ian MunneryA1size"]...a long 23...

Rubbish, a mid23. Got to be mid up to x.45 :D .

Now then lets see a flyer in next weeks 25 as well, Richard a minute behind you should help keep your mind on it from the word go.

It was good to exorcise the demon, I `ve not ridden on this course or any variants of it at other distances since the accident 6 weeks ago. That little gem reared its head when I got to the HQ. Its not that I`ve consciously avoid the course, but have ridden else where doing 50s and 100S. I had butterflies all the way to the start, and felt better once I had passed the incident point, and apart from a driver who made me feel a little uncomfortable on the return leg, forcing me to slow a little, it was with out incident :D Just 16 seconds slower than my time on the same event last year and my fastest 10 this year having only ridden and completed 6 in the entire season to date. It was good to stay ahead of Ian :lol: even if he does get me on the vet stakes :roll:
