I wonder if Hoogerland changed his mind over the incident after he saw the footage of it - don't know how that tree jumped into the path of the French media car

I see Brailsford is looking into 'all options' over the 'accident'.

Well, how much did Greipel enjoy that ...

And nobody fell off. Clearly they're getting the hang of cycling.

The MightyThor proving why he's world champ today, brilliant ride.

Indeed. Not so hot today though.

I thought the final climb today would "sort out the GC". Well, not quite. Got to admire Voeckler - although when you see a rider who's getting on and hasn't done anything for a few years suddenly ride like that... too much cynicism. Interesting the nobody in that group was able to make an attack stick.

I liked the viewer comment: has anyone checked the mountain is OK after being hit twice by Jens Voigt?

Jens is beyond cool. After the 2nd crash, he gets up, tells the press to F-off, then goes and picks up 20kg of bidons and food and takes it back to his team.

And still sets a cracking pace on final climb, having got back up with the main peloton

Sorry, cap'n, I'm not Jens Voigt and this morning I woke up with a sore throat and possible temperature after a week of feeling like I'm fighting off a cold...

As for Voeckler, he's riding no worse than Contador...

I'm not Jens. The prospect of heavy rain and wind is enough to stop me from travelling up to Bedford to ride a 100 miles on the A1 with the lorries and the spray ...

For those that don't have it the Jens Voigt Soundboard.

I don't know what Millar is about. Charging along the flat and then as soon as there's a bit of a gradient just dying. What a terrible way to ride

Cryptic quote from Voeckler in his press conference this evening
On today's form, I would not have been able to follow Armstrong or Basso in 2004

What could this possibly mean?

Guess the sulky idiot.
"I'm really disappointed. Is this what people really want to see?" he asked.

"I think the parcours was badly chosen today. We don't want to see riders crashing, riders taking risks. Everyone has got a family at home. A finish like this should not be allowed.

"I didn’t feel super when he attacked and I did a bad downhill. Someone in front of me slid out on the first corner and so I had to clip out of the pedal. There was a gap of 150 metres and I couldn't close it to the bottom."

"I don't think it means anything. I'm staying positive, my shape is good. I showed it and I'm going to show it again. In my head I'm good for the next few stages," he said.
