Bec 10 16/7

Postby Andrew G » Sat Jul 16, 2011 5:11 pm

2pm kick off on the Holmwood course today for Ian and I at the Bec 10. Chucking it down on the way there but fortunately it stopped in time for the race, windy out there though.

I was off two minutes ahead of scratch man Steve Dennis so it was interesting to see how long I could hold him at bay, I managed until halfway back to the mid roundabout on the return leg before he shot by me.

Ian did 25.31 and I did 24.27 which was okay on a toughish blowy day. Steve was pipped for the win doing 21.15 to winner Conall Yates 21.12.

Excellent lemon drizzle cake and nice big cups of tea afterwards. Back to Broadbridge Heath for the Bec 25 tomorrow morning with Carl for company, might try something different so we'll see how that goes.

What a sh1t day for a bike ride- let alone a race ! If the weather was that bad I would turbo in the roof.
However after messaging  , he convinced me to turn up at least, well I had to see him re the 4up TTT.

Luckily it stopped raining about 1.45pm so we went for it.

Unfortuanatley the wind came after the rain- it seemed in every direction or so it seemed.

My worst time this year! 25.31-$hite.

After doing a few afternoon sessions this year I can only conclude that my body does not like this time at all- most people are asleep at this time and rightly so

Legs never felt like moving, its not a natural body rhythm at all to me,

does any one else seem to feel this?

Yes, I never go well in afternoon TTs particularly 10s. The wind made it about a minute slower for most today than good weather looking at others times as well.

Dress like a tart, you mean in skin tight lycra with freshly shaved legs? :) .
