Pace was fairly quick from the off although nothing like CP. I managed to get a 5 man break going after 2 laps but only me and a Brighton mitre guy wanting to work. After a few laps this whittled down to just 3 of us but i couldn't get the other guys to share any work. To keep the momentum going and to keep away from the bunch i stayed on the front finally getting the break down to just two of us,lapping the dropped riders and main bunch The other lad a was a young vcl rider who wouldn't come through and just sat on my wheel the whole time,when i shouted him to come through he moaned he was too tired. this lasted until the 3rd from final lap when the young whippersnapper jumped me and got away by 50 or so meters. As much as i tried i couldn't catch him and he crossed the line about 10 secs ahead of me
Anyway i got 2nd place and enough points to get my 3rd cat licence
Paul Ingram was also in my race but i don't know how he got on?
Had a brief chat with Serge who was just about to go off in the 2/3rd's race said he wasn't feeling too good but i didn't stay to see how he got on and can't see any results yet
Great little low key friendly event held by Brighton mitre they even had some free beer they were dishing out after the race! ,i'll hopefully be back there next year to race the 2/3's
