got it in one sylv!
Me and Jon drove made the trek to the outer Essex plains for the 47m Spoco SE event yesterday morn. Beutiful sunny morning with just a slight breeze to keep us from over heating in full TT regalia
Not as flattering as it sounds, finished 3rd a massive 4 mins behind 2nd spot. The gap would have been a couple of mins smaller had i paid attention on one bit of the course going through Tiptree. Couldn't see any arrows or marshalls going through a couple of mini roundabouts so carried on regardless until a set of rd work traffic lights. Stopped and waited for these to go green before deciding to turn round and dnf. Carried on for a bit soft peddling until another competitor passed the other way. Shouted to her if i was going the correct way and she said yes you were!. So from then on it was full gas for the remaining first lap then come the final lap i knew exactly where to go and what to expect
Nice undulating course in the (mostly) small Essex lanes although the road surface wasn't very kind in places

1st Andrew Leggett-1.51.54
2nd Colin Ward-1.52.50
3rd Carl Ferri- 1.56.38
19th Jon Hemming - 2.10 (after a week in tunisia on a diet of green tea and beer)

Good - might see you at Palace. No entries online (yet) - just got this from mrpvt:

[quote]"The Surrey League TTs organised by G S Stella are again being held on the
Handcross circuit on 6th and 13th August at 1.30pm. Please note that on 6th
the HQ is the Sports Pavillion, while on 13th it is in the Parish Hall (next
to the now closed pub) as it has been in the past.

There is a 2-up and solo event each week with the best riders usually
dipping inside the hour for two laps (26 miles).

The start is by the gardens at the top of the descent to Staplefield, with
the race heading to Whitemans Green (Cuckfield) before heading North up the
Balcombe Road to the Cowdray Arms. Here it turns left to return to
Handcross, turning left to pass through the village and back past the start.
The finish is on the second lap just before Handcross."

Entries will be taken on the day and on line if we can get the system to
work in time.
