For the third year running, and back by popular demand (well I like it anyway) the summer picnic will be taking place on Sunday August 7th.

More details to follow - for now please put the date in your diary :)

I thought we might go back to Crystal Palace this year. Keep things moving around. There's a lovely space in front of the concert bowl to play games and also lots of shade under the trees too. As it's in a bowl the wind (leave it!!) is usually not too bad.

Boing!

I've had a few enquiries about this off line, I may have posted too early originally, but does anyone fancy a picnic, few beers, and some games over at CP Park? All welcome, including friends and family.

Well Done Snoopy, this is a timely invitation and one which i will definately try to make. Enjoyed last years soiree in Lloyd Park and look forward to the pleasant environs of Crystal Palace park in which to relax and un-wind with some fellow bike crazy loonies who normally only see in lycra and sweating profusely!
As i remember rightly, there is a small (rusty) stage in the aforementioned bowl in the park which it would be possible if you were to be suitably togged in swimming trunks to perform some of your delightful little ditties?
I am also sure this would maybe inspire some others equally blessed in the musical talents department ( if that's possible!) to indulge us with their music. I am thinking maybe Jon Bailey's Band Homebrood? Is this possible? Only an idea dear fellow but thanks for suggesting this as i think it is a really good idea and will bless it with my presence and suggest as many others from the club to do likewise if they are suitably inclined. :D  :) :P
Yours faithfully,
Kasper Benjamin Seward

cheers mate - I took a guitar last year but didn't have the bottle to get it out. I've managed to overcome some of that reluctance so may have another go this time. Your suggestion re JB's band is excellent - I've seen them and they are great fun!

Here's to a good fun afternoon - suggest we kick things off from say 1pm. If the weather is bad this is a no no, soggy picnicsa re no fun. Appreciate your enthusiasm Mr K

We enjoyed a lovely picnic today. Amy is a most excellent frisbee thrower and Ed a great donater of fine beer. Carole and Keira came along and a good time was had by all. We shared a lovely apricot, nut and raspberry slice with chocolate and it barely rained a drop. Great fun and fantastic clouds floating about the place too.

Hey! What about my skipping? Think I proved I was the best skipper (or jumping rope) out of you lot  OK, so we didn't see how well Ed could do :D

Carole's right, skipping must be an excellent work out - I was knackered after just five seconds  Just don't think my neighbour would appreciate me doing it in my flat and I'm not doing it out in front of all the flats

Doug, thanks for the good time and sharing the pudding with Ed and me - I had planned on an icecream but it seemed a long way to walk

Not sure if the gift of cat milk made up for me being late for her ladyship's dinner
