I use Garmin Connect for the simple reason that it is very easy to use and i'm stuck in my ways.

I'm pretty new to Garmin Connect, but I love it!
Are there any benefits to using Strava over it?

I took the plunge and signed up to be a Strava "premium" member and there are some nice little things like competing on climbs and segments but I can't see any other benefits. It won't import all of my garmin data (dating back to 2009) and why is there no easy way to add a segment that you've been ranked on without mapping it again for yourself?

Am I missing something??!!

i can do a ride and it will say "you ranked xx on particular segment"
It then takes you to the segment page but there's nowhere I can see to click that particular segment and add it to "my segments".
It appears that I have to go to the activity and then create a segment myself.
I was hoping for a simple feature where you can search for a segment and then click a link to add it to "my segments"

OK, just posted my firstStrava ride on FB, potentially this is a a more interesting format than Garmin Connect and there ia an Addiscombe Strava team currently with 4 members?? It seems to calculate in KM which I hate - anyone know how to change it to miles?

Thanks. I'm on it now. Just identified a fast segment from botley hill towards sainsbury's at warlingham. So far I'm it's fastest rider. What fun!
