For the women:

Julia Shaw broke the women's 25 mile competition record with 50.01

For the men:

National 12hr - Andy Bason did 304.? miles beating the old 12hr Competition Record .
Breckland 12hr - Jeff Jones did 305.691 miles for a new Competition Record .

All records need to be ratified and the 12 hour ones have the distances confirmed and courses remeasured, so the 12hr record could be really close but if Andy loses out then he's National Champion as compensation.

Sure are. I take nothing away from Julia's ride and she's an amazing rider as many will have seen on the flat out and back TT in the Commonwealth Games, but I always find the distance rides and records more amazing. You can't have a gift hill in a 12hr and the ability to maintain such a sustained pace is incredible.

Jeff Jones has been in superb form lately and Bason "the beast" is a superb rider, he shot past me in the National 50 as though I was popping down the shops on a sit up and beg...and it was a fast stretch I was doing 33mph on!
